Terms and Conditions

This section sets forth Plain Folk Furniture’s Terms and Conditions of sale. By completing a purchase with us, you agree to follow these Terms and Conditions and to be bound by them.

Warranty

Plain Folk Furniture provides for the original retail purchaser or the gift recipient a limited warranty on its products to be free from material defects in workmanship and materials when used for normal, residential indoor use for one year from the date of your receipt of the product.  Proper care and use are essential for preserving your rights under this warranty.  Because many of our products are handcrafted and made with natural materials, variations in size, shape, and color can be expected.

Our products are not warranted against normal wear and tear, commercial use, accidents, abuse or neglect or from damage resulting from wood movement or improper use, care, or storage.  Any product modification by retailer or consumer, or use of non-Plain Folk Furniture parts, voids this warranty.  In no event shall Plain Folk Furniture be liable for special, consequential, incidental or other damages.  Plain Folk Furniture disclaims all conditions, warranties, and guarantees that are not expressly set forth therein and any implied conditions, warranties, and/or guarantees, including, absent limitation, implies warranties of fitness for a particular use.  Some states do not allow exclusions and limitations on incidental and consequential damages or the limitations on implied warranties, so the described limitations may not apply to you.

General Terms

All prices and services featured on our website are quoted in U.S. dollars, are valid and effective only in the 48 contiguous states of the United States.  Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of prices, product numbers, availability, and dimensions; however, we cannot be responsible for typographical errors. Plain Folk Furniture reserves the right to revoke any stated offer and to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions even after an order has been submitted or the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, Plain Folk Furniture will issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge.

Each purchaser’s order will be processed as indicated on the order confirmation sent to you by Plain Folk Furniture.  If there is a discrepancy, the purchaser must notify Plain Folk Furniture in writing within 5 days from the date of the order confirmation.  Plain Folk Furniture is not required to accept changes requested after the order confirmation.

Some of our products have been photographed with decorative items, such as flowers, vases; such ancillary items are not included with product purchase.  Due to the custom nature of the manufacturing process, all quoted completion and delivery dates are estimates only.  Plain Folk Furniture shall not be liable for delays in completion or shipment or default in delivery for any reason of force majeure or for any cause beyond Plain Folk Furniture’s reasonable control.  In the event of any delay in our performance due in whole or in part to any cause beyond our reasonable control, we shall have such additional time for performance as may be reasonably necessary under the circumstances.

Please inspect your furniture as soon as it arrives.  Any and all claims against Plain Folk Furniture, including defects, shortages and errors, must be made within five (5) days after receipt of merchandise. Failure to make any claim against Plain Folk Furniture within such 5-day period shall constitute acceptance of merchandise and a waiver of said defects, shortages, errors and other claims. Plain Folk Furniture’s liability shall not exceed the contract price actually paid to Plain Folk Furniture for such merchandise and it shall in no event be liable for labor charges.  All claims should be reported to Plain Folk Furniture at 877-433-8909 or contactus@plainfolkfurniture.com

The total order amount, including applicable sales tax and shipping and delivery charges, will be charged to your credit card account or deducted from your gift card in full at the time the order is placed.

Cancellation and Return Policy

Plain Folk Furniture cannot accept order cancellations on any custom-made or custom-cut items past 24 hours after order placement.  Under no circumstances may orders be cancelled after production has begun.  Every piece of furniture made by our Amish craftsmen is a custom order, made in the exact stain color, wood species and often size of your selection.  For this reason, all sales are final.  Please review your order online carefully before placing it.  If you discover that you have made an error in your order, contact us immediately.  We can often change an order if construction has not yet begun.

We may update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time and without prior notice. For this reason, you should review our Terms and Conditions each time you purchase products from us.  All disputes relating to these terms and the products of Plain Folk Furniture shall be governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and any related action must be brought in the state or federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Arlington County.
